Business Analyst

Second Foundation Partners is looking for a Business Analyst to help us build tools that make sense of the world’s narratives using generative AI.

The Role

You’ll manage Storyteller, our AI- and NLP-driven narrative research platform. You will work directly with both our technology and research teams to build and improve our models for analyzing news, social media, and other unstructured data. You’ll help shape both internal tools and client-facing dashboards that actually tell meaningful stories from data. You will create new kinds of content that do not exist anywhere else in the world.

What You’ll Do

  • Work directly with the CEO and executive team to turn complex analytical needs into clear technical requirements;
  • Use LLMs and other AI tools to analyze unstructured data (think news, social media, and Narrative content);
  • Design and implement visualizations that make complex data clear and actionable;
  • Manage the development process for our narrative research projects;
  • Create content and new ideas for content types (everyone here creates); and
  • Interface with clients to understand their needs and ensure our tools deliver value.

What You’ll Need

  • Sharp analytical mind and attention to detail;
  • Experience with LLM prompting and APIs;
  • Familiarity with NLP concepts and comfort working with large, sometimes unwieldy datasets;
  • Ability to create clear, web-based visualizations (we use Sigma – React and WordPress experience is a plus);
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • No formal education requirements – we care about what you can do, not your credentials; and
  • 1-3 years of professional experience.

What We Offer

  • Target all-in compensation of $125-150k;
  • Equity participation;
  • Direct impact on product development;
  • Work that exercises both your analytical and creative muscles;
  • A culture that values clear thinking and straight talk; and
  • Opportunity to shape how AI tools are used to understand the narratives that drive our world.
  • Location: Fairfield County, CT with partial remote possible
